it sounds crazy, but it isn’t. UT is #9 in the coaches poll. They’ll be in that zip code come Tuesday.
1. Bama crushes Georgia, giving UGA two blowout losses.
2. UCF without Milton loses to Memphis. They only beat them by one point during the regular season. Not far fetched.
3. Ohio St loses to Northwestern. I know ... this is the most unlikely step, but a two-loss Ohio St isn’t getting the benefit of the doubt.
4. Texas beats OU.
If that happens (I’d argue three of four steps there are not unreasonable ... at all), then three loss UT is a conference champ with a better resume than Washington. Michigan and Ohio St would be lobbying, but I think the margin of the UT losses, quality victories (Michigan has done nothing all season), and conference championship would give UT the edge.
