I know in 1956 Prentice Gautt became the first African-American player at Oklahoma to play for coach Wilkinson. The fullback never forgot coach Wilkinson's impact on his life. It took Royal winning a natty in 1969 to finally give in... But Texas monthly released a proven memo in 2021 that is awful and makes Royal look really bad and other Texas coaches,,, He stated they create problems, Current players resented.. And a housing problem,,,, Texas said it would be unthinkable... and it would be disastrous for recruiting.. And the University would be labeled what? also why would east Texas boys not want to go to Texas to win a national championship?
