As Scoop noted yesterday, we were somewhat expecting some fireworks from Arizona State receiver transfer LV Bunkley-Shelton and in speaking to a few sources it sounds like that day could still come but for now it feels as though Oklahoma is just taking their time and seeing what all is available and the best allocation of their numbers.
Bunkley-Shelton, who had 33 receptions for 418 yards and two touchdowns in 2021 for the Sun Devils, continues to be very high on the Sooners and I'm told the visit went extremely well. Depending on a few variables it's possible that he ends up in Norman but for right now Oklahoma wants to be patient.
That said it could meet some resolution soon as some feel he could be in competition with former in-state star Javian Hester, the Missouri transfer. Hester will be on campus starting tomorrow and while Hester has always been pretty honest about his affinity for Oklahoma it will be interesting to see what the former Tulsa Booker T. Washington standout thinks of Norman over the upcoming 48 hours.
Hester has plans to visit Notre Dame and Baylor in the coming weeks and mentions even perhaps taking a visit to Arizona State though if I were guessing I'd bet that one doesn't come to pass.
Just keep an eye on these two as they may well be connected or the Sooners might decide both can help. It feels a bit up in the air at the moment.
