OK guys, first off let me apologize for not having something up on the eyes last night, that's just on me and it should have been done. After doing the pod I just went to bed last night and felt like I'd said what I was at liberty to say.
But I too often forget that not everyone listens so, again, that's on me and sorry that some of you were irritated about it - feel free to yell at me.
As far as the eyes, we all know I'm not going to air the name or anything but I can say it was a guy who was on campus this weekend and is from an area that Oklahoma has worked hard in for some time but is seeing their first real payoff, at least in some time.
I can also say that it sounds like 'soon' is the word on when this will come; I'm expecting we'll hear something this week - but I'm not certain of that.
***Interestingly yesterday Gray (Ga.) Jones County 2020 wide receiver Jontavis Robertson tweeted yesterday about getting down to Norman and it sounds like that may be possible before the end of the season.
He is a guy with big-time speed and has been talking to Dennis Simmons for a while and another Sooner staffer seems to have picked things up in the last few weeks.
"I’m talking with coach (Cale) Gundy now too. He’s a cool dude too, like coach Simmons. Me and coach (Antwan) Toomer really want to make a game this year if we can," Robertson said.
For those that don't remember, Toomer was an assistant that helped Trey Sermon through his recruitment and still has a close bond with the Sooner sophomore running back. He is currently assistant at Jones County so there are some dots to connect there.
***With several recent offers, including tonight's to Hattiesburg, Miss. Rivals250 defensive end Jaren Handy, it looks like Oklahoma is more than willing to make a run at a few of Auburn's commitment list.
An interesting name to keep an eye on? Jashawn Sheffield of Saint Simons Island (Ga.) Frederica Academy he is a highly ranked athlete, and was offered very early by the Sooners, and is seen as something of a safety target.
