UPDATE: 9:44p - Will have Monday Notes coming shortly but wanted to cap off a solid day of notes with some more good stuff for you all...
We'll end with a note on a guy from a familiar, but usually unfriendly, area...Austin. That player being Austin Westlake four-star defensive end Colton Vasek.
"The atmosphere was phenomenal in Norman. Coach (Brent) Venables and the OU staff really did a great job organizing the day," Vasek said.
And like so many before him, Vasek can't stop talking about the bond of the staff and how accessible they all are.
"During my time at OU it really felt like everyone was in one big family. Not only are they going to make you a better player, but they’re also going to make you a much better person. I really enjoyed seeing their facilities and what all they had to offer," he said.
But, again, much like a growing list of prospects he was impressed by one of Oklahoma's newest hires.
"Coach Chavis is my guy, he’s a great dude to be around."
UPDATE: 3:10p - One of the guys I was very interested in hearing from following his visit is Marlin, Texas linebacker offer Derion Gullette.
"It was amazing!" Gullette raved. "I loved the way the coaches are so connected and then you can tell how passionate coach V is."
I'm hoping to get by and see Gullette very soon to have a bit more but I think it's safe to say the Sooners are going to VERY much be a part of his recruitment.
UPDATE: 2:52p - Not really related to a recruit or their feelings about Oklahoma but wanted to convey something I was told in the last 24 hours by a prospect's coach that visited OU recently...
"Those guys are going to win. That's the best and most organized event I've ever been to and I've been everywhere."
UPDATE: 2:46p - Alright guys, had a chance to talk some with potential five-star offensive tackle Cayden Green himself and the Sooners have really laid down a gauntlet for all to follow.
"It was amazing," Green said. "I really enjoyed the staff."
And that's when Green couldn't help but notice how the new staff has changed from the previous one in asking what stood out about his visit.
"How much more of a family the new staff was compared to the old one was the biggest thing for me," he said.
And a big part of that has to be Brent Venables, no?
"He was very cool, he stands for the same stuff we stand for."
ORIGINAL: *Alright guys, so while i've not gotten a full review from Garland (Texas) Naaman Forest offensive line offer Markis Deal I can tell you that he has decided against his previously planned visit to Oklahoma State this weekend and my general impression is they are going to hang around a bit more today before heading home in the afternoon.
So, so far it would seem that things are going well for Oklahoma.
**The best story I've heard at this point was that of Tyler (Texas) Legacy Rivals100 defensive end Jordan Renaud.
"It went great actually," Renaud said of the visit. "I sang for everyone, it was dope."
Wait...what?
"We were playing finish the lyric," he laughed. "I sang T-Pain, Tevin Campbell 'Can We Talk', it was a real good time."
