UPDATE: 3:24p - I've spoken with DeAndre Butler - will have the update later tonight - and I think Oklahoma made some real progress here.
He shied away from calling anyone a leader but was clearly impressed by the whole setup at Oklahoma and seemed to really hit it off with Isaiah Thomas, his host, during the trip.
I'll have his full comments by tomorrow morning (hopefully before) but I think the Sooners are right there and as I said this morning I think the Auburn-Oklahoma thing feels like a real battle.
UPDATE: 2:46p - I've spoken to a few people and won't pretend that I feel great about what I'm hearing on the Alfred Collins front and have switched my thoughts back to Texas.
I do still think Oklahoma has a chance here but it just sounds like Texas is back to EXTREME confidence. We'll see what plays out as we've seen this go the other way before and I know that Oklahoma's only real back on their own confidence has been the reality that he is an Austin area kid. Aside from that, something beyond his control, Collins has been giving Oklahoma all the right signals.
Again, I'm betting Texas at this point, after about a month of buying into Oklahoma's chances, but Oklahoma has plenty of reason to swing for the fences.
ORIGINAL: Alright guys, it looks like the Sooners have about wrapped up the official visit of DeAndre Butler.
I'm told that things went very, very well and that Oklahoma has a chance to close him thoug , as always, he still plans to take his two other official visits to Auburn next weekend and Oregon the week after.
Interestingly enough I'm told that this could come down to Oklahoma and Auburn.
I will try and reach him for more.
