That's worse than the FBomb tirade.
I mean saying something that stupid, and it is incredibly stupid, is inexcusable. But again, using the Nword gives carte blanche to say anything in response because well that's the one unforgivable sin.
It will be used by every school recruiting against OU this year and likely for a while.
I 'd call his "leadership" into serious question.
I didn't see this. Do you have a link?
This is what is being referred to...
"What parent would want to send their child here now?" Striker said Monday morning in an exclusive interview with The Oklahoman. "If I was an incoming freshman and about to come here, and my momma saw that, I don't think she'd want me to come here. It's scary for people."
"It's hard because how do I justify them being around some of these people? No parent would want their kids around those people. I don't think my mother would let me come here. I don't think I'd want to come here, either. Who wants to send their child around that?"
I don't think the issue is with Striker at all though. It's that Kersey chose to tweet out portions of what Striker said without the rest as context. When the next part is added in, it looks completely different...
"We're gonna have to deal with these guys coming in," Striker said. "I'm gonna let them know we don't agree with it. That's not how we operate here as a team. We're trying to rally around each other and stand up for what's right. If you join us, you can be part of that.
Can't fault Striker for the sensationalism that Kersey tried to create on social media. The whole story doesn't generate as much traffic in regards to the possible effect on recruiting.
I think Striker is showing quite a bit of leadership myself.
