to recognize the failurres of his brother's defense. I think he recognized that, if OU were to get to the playoffs under his coaching that the defense would fail. He came too close too many times to fail again and he sure didnt want to fire Mike. That got him started thinking about how to do what he wanted and keep Mike and knew that couldnt be done . How to get out of the problem? Great time to retire for that and the other reasons.
