Stidham still smarting...

I believe it was Jordan Evans that made the hit..........

Nope, it was Chuck Tapper.
Remember, Charles got a hold him, they didn't blow the whistle because Stidham stood there and stiffened up, so Tapper said OK, then slammed him down pretty hard.

I remember thinking oh gawd, here we go with another personal foul, auto first down. However they made the right 'no call'.
It was just a solid football play.

He was slammed on his tailbone. Chris Johnson has talent, just wasn't gonna waste it sitting behind Stidham, so asked to move to WR. He is a 6'5" dual threat kid from Bryan.

Actually, they both got a pretty good lick on him on different plays. Evans' was early in the game and drew a flag. In wrestling, it would have been good for two points for a takedown, plus a near fall.

Thanks vert for bailing me out. I thought I read the injury came on the third play of the first Baylor drive. I thought that's when he got hurt. I spent the last thirty minutes trying to find a film clip with no luck.........

That was one hard hit on Stidham by Tapper, but I don't think it was excessive. Borderline, but still a legal hit.

Yep, when the QB leaves the protected confines of the 'passing box', he becomes a 'runner' and as such the rules are more relaxed in how you tackle him.
I do believe that had Tapper been any more demonstrative in tackling him he would've drawn the ugly flag though. IMO
