@BPrzybylo - Is this the week? Nah, done asking that. It’s not until the Oklahoma offense proves to everybody otherwise.
Not sure it’s Saturday in Manhattan. If it is, because of the uncertainty for Kansas State at quarterback, the Sooners could truly dominate and get ready for Texas.
But since we’re not there yet, get ready for some head-scratching moments. Get ready for Deuce Vaughn to have at least a couple of big-time plays and get ready for another intense fourth quarter.
The lingering question is did Spencer Rattler and the offense flip the switch during the final drive vs. West Virginia that will carry that group going forward?
It’s not really a Rattler-centric issue, though. All eyes will go toward the offensive line and whether Andrew Raym is still at center and Wanya Morris is now the guy at left tackle. It’ll be a long time before OU can win another game like last weekend without a consistent rushing attack.
One consistent in recent matchups has been OU giving the ball away and the Sooners being unable to do the same vs. the Wildcats.
That’s where maybe things can be turned around in this edition because Alex Grinch’s guys have been able to produce those takeaways that eluded OU for so many years and in the last two meetings between the teams.
Rattler throws a couple of touchdowns, but this is the game where Kennedy Brooks makes his mark for the first time this season. A big drive in the fourth quarter puts it away as the defense once again stands tall and helps the Sooners move to 5-0.
OU 27, KSU 19.

That's it. That's the key to the week. Oh and offensive line. And quarterback. And getting off the field on third down.
You all know the drill by now. We're four weeks and still there's been much left to be desired. Oh and what about Skylar Thompson? Thompson plays and you better strap up for a four quarter test of will. How effective can he be?
That'll certainly be the biggest question upon our arrival to Bill Snyder Family Stadium on Saturday.
Quietly Oklahoma's defense has seemed to steady the ship. Look it's been a rough go offensively. There's something broken, obviously. The question remains? Can it be fixed? That sort of up to Lincoln Riley. That's sort of up to Bill Bedenbaugh. That's sort of up to Spencer Rattler. I think it can. But it won't be done over night. So that's why it's on Alex Grinch's group to be the difference maker. Assert themselves. Force turnovers.
In each of its four wins over Oklahoma since 2012 the Wildcats have won the turnover battle 11-0. They've had the better special teams.
This game is fairly simple. Don't overthink it.

No, that's not me talking to anyone in Norman, well I guess Bob lives in Norman, but you get my point. This is Eddie and Bob trying to back you all away from the cliff.
Folks, it's time to embrace the chaos.
This year is going to be a bumpy ride and three nail-biting experiences in Norman are going to be righted on the road against Oklahoma's biggest problem of the last decade? Ok. I'm just not sure what world we're living in if we think we've seen anything that supports that stance.
Think West Virginia presents problems in run defense? Kansas State, statistically speaking, has been better than the Mountaineers. So Oklahoma's ground game is going to get off the ground? I mean...sure, MAYBE, it happens but is anyone really buying that?
It feels like people are just going to keep telling themselves that OU will right itself until they get burned in these razor thin games. You know who that matches up with? Times with coaches where they've waited until the house was on fire (a loss) before making a change that most of the world could see was needed. So if you just want to just believe things will change, I'll show you the definition of insanity.
This isn't a great Kansas State team but they will play within themselves, they will avoid mistakes and wait for OU to make their own. As I've said the past few weeks in report card, this team is what it is.
Two weeks ago I said I was concerned about the Nebraska game and then last week thought OU might get it right with West Virginia but we're now officially in a 'show-me' scenario. No more credit purchases, it's cold hard cash time. The Sooners are going to have to actually prove something before I'm ready to believe they are anything meaningful.
