Spring Game Encounter

Was sitting next to an African-American gentlemen who was holding his grandson. We struck up a conversation about certain players on the field and he asked several questions about player info since I had a program. Kyler Murray came up and I mentioned that I thought he is going to be a better QB than Jamel Holloway because he was as good a runner and much better passer. He looked at me funny and mentioned that he was the father-in-law of a former Sooner QB and asked if I remembered Paul Thompson. Said absolutely and he said well he is sitting right behind us. Paul has not changed a bit from his Sr days. I shook Paul's hand and told him we appreciated him returning to the QB position his Sr year and leading the team to a great season.

Oh, and also told Paul that Sooner fans are still pissed at Oregon/Refs for stealing that football game!

Always liked Paul Thompson. Great player while he was at OU, and an even better person.

Paul Thompson is one of my favorites. True team player. He always did what was asked of him to his best ability and was pretty damn good doing it.

I really appreciate him. I had a chance run in with a relative of his not too long ago and we talked at length about what he did here. It was awesome to get a perspective from the other side and actually have it mesh up with expectations. He is a pretty humble and unique person.
