I doubt that anyone herein would make this mistake but I've watched several shows where the school nickname has been pronounced coyotEEE. Anyone who has lived most of their life in either Texas or Oklahoma knows the E is silent. Toby confirmed it on the press conference show but I think we all knew regardless.

I live about a half hour from Vermillion SD, the home of the Coyotes of USD. It is Coyote up here, not Coyotee.

One of my former players plays for USD, so he'll be making the trip to Norman this week. He originally signed and played at Air Force, but due to a medical issue he was unable to continue at Air Force. He is in his first year at USD. He's pretty darn excited to get to play at OU this week.

Seen a few coyotes in my neighborhood and have seen a few running down deer at night and some crossing my yard. I live in the middle of a 20,000 pop town. The City finally caved to dog owners and cat owners because the Coyote's were taking their animals. They hired a trapper to catch some of them and that brought on complaints from the Animal Lovers saying the Coyote's have more right to be here than we do.

We also have a problem with deer, always in the neighborhoods and walking on the streets during daylight quite a few have been hit. Thats why the Coyote's are here.
People don't want the deer messed with either.
One night a couple of weeks back I opened the garage door and there were 6 young bucks eating up my front flower bed. They saw me and trotted across the road stopped and just stared at me. I stomped my foot and yelled at them to get to no avail, they just stood there looking at me. One even took a few steps toward me when I stomped on the driveway.

Yeah they're thick here in Cornbelt; usually see 'em late at night, early am walking up my street or in the yard. Geese and turkey also
Same here in New Braunfels, Texas. I literally run them out of my yard at night. As you know, you better be planting things in your flower beds that you KNOW they won’t touch or you’ll go broke.

The city will cite me if I use a pellet gun; I'm thinking about a paintball war though

Same here, I have both pellet and BB but if someone see's you shoot at them and reports you then you are in trouble.
I turn the sprinkler system on when I catch them in the yard, works for a few days and they are back.

Cannot see all the deer eyes in this pic, there were more up the hill looking at me, about 15 in all. From a few yrs back.

I have a few too many nosey nazi neighbors to get by with anything...

Ha ha ha I have one down the street that tells everyone I am a trouble maker because I complain about the barking dogs in the neighborhood.
Busy body guy that leaves notes in peoples mailboxes telling them they need to mow their yard, treat their yard and complains about his neighbors dog waking him up in the morning but he lets his bark all the time. I call him the Mayor, knows everybody's business or at least tries to.
I prefer the deer and coyotes over the barking dogs, roaming cats and inconsiderate nosey neighbors.

Pronounced by most here with the E silent too. When I lived in the Country you heard them but rarely saw one. Moved to the City and see them all the time. I guess Coyote like Chinese Restaurant Food too aka dog and cat. :D
Hey it happens, a Chinese Rest. in LR was shut down years ago for serving up stray cats. People started to question why so many neighborhood cats were disappearing and they found out why.
