South Carolina D looks

I really can't see it getting that much better this year. Who we going to beat? Maine and maybe south carolina and Missouri?

I doubt we win another. Just watched LSU and Ole Miss, we aint beating either on of them. Not gonna beat Mizzou, SC either. Alabama will roll us and I wouldn't put money on us beating Maine.
This is beyond bad, hell the defense looked exhausted in the 2nd qtr today and we are supposed to be 2 deep at numerous positions on D. The D is better but not a lot better. It just looks like it is because the Offense is one of the worst if not the worst in CF.

The old coach saying applies right now. It's never as good as it seems. It's never as bad as it seems.

I quit being a gambling man more than a few years ago, but I'd bet, if I did, that we win six or more to make a bowl game. We do have the toughest schedule in the conference, but we'll get at least a couple more wins. I would bet we get back some players back. Surely we won't spend the next two months without our top five wides. We have enough talent. We just need to get it on the field. I expect it to happen.

You have more faith in this staff than I do. Even if we get a few wides back they won't be in playing shape and the o line will not be anywhere near what it needs to be. And with SL calling the plays it wouldn't matter either way. This is as bad as I have ever seen it and thats not good moving on to some very difficult games ahead. One more win is all I can see and hopefully some staff changes when the season ends. Just hope we don't lose recruits or have a mass exodus into the portal when its all said and done but I fully expect both of those things happen. We are a dumpster fire right now and its very likely to get worse the rest of the way.
For the life of me I cannot fathom this staff not being more prepared for the move to the SEC, its like they have been sleep walking the past 3 yrs. Yesterday was inexcusable.
On the bright side at haltime Sat I went out and got some trees planted and some yardwork done, I expect to do the same from here on out. Call me a fairweather fan or whatever but I won't watch a crap product anymore, not when I can get some things done instead of wasting my time watching this Program go down the crapper. And thats exactly where it is, if anyone doesn't believe that or see it you are just fooling yourselves.

It really sucks too because I was really looking forward all during the off season for Football Season to start but now will be glad when its over. We may end up dead last in the SEC this year.

67, I have the Gettysburg battlefield here to escape from my concerns and disappointments. When I’m out on this battlefield, learning almost everyday about a particular area, I’m in my own little worry-free world.
With the issues surrounding this team and the upcoming election featuring the worst two choices for president in my lifetime (since 1948), living in Gettysburg is a great escape from all the BS there is in our world.
My curiosity about this year’s OU team is how the offensive line talent stopped being a trademark of this program. The players on the OL appear to be journeyman caliber “table scraps” that seem like an Ivy League line.
And this issue won’t be resolved this year.

5.9 yards per carry=very bad defense

The updated ESPN FPI gives OU a 91.1% chance to win at least 6 games, and has the Sooners finishing 7-5. For all of the talk in these threads about Maine threatening the Sooners, OU's power rating is still about 40 points better than Maine.

Sold. Let's take it and end the season now. Sounds like a generous deal.

Gettysburgh is on my bucket list of Civil War Historic sites to visit. I love history of all kinds. For me this weekend, we have family friends coming in from Germany and plan on visiting the local pumpkin patch with them and our entire family. Sometimes, even as diehard of an OU fan as I am, like 67 stated the product on the field is almost unwatchable. I will however watch the game later as I will have it recorded.

At least I will know the outcome and be able to watch it without my blood boiling over at the mess this team currently is.

That is all fine and dandy but my concern has more to do with the state of the teams attitude and mindset if they enter that game at 4-4. That is a very real possibility.

I wonder how empty the stadium gets at halftime if OU struggles again? On a side note, the site I get my tickets from they had 1038 tickets that were donated to them to give away. Those tickets are donated by season ticket holders for veterans where 4 tickets might cost me $16. Why I bring this up is that it kind of shows you how many season ticket holders decided not to attend this game for whatever reason or another.

I think a lot of people see the writing on the wall, this Season is a bust unless something drastic happens (how long we been saying that?)
and would rather spend that traveling money elsewhere.
I know if I were still a Season Ticket Holder I wouldn't spend 5 1/2 hrs in a vehicle, gas, food and price gouged hotel rooms just to watch what we have seen so far. And its not me being fair weathered. I go to games to be entertained and its not cheap. Its like watching a TV Program or a Movie, if I am not entertained I turn the channel.

Totally agree. For me I usually make that a round trip. So its like a 24 hour day for me.
