Sooners Stop the Bleeding

Trae Young got a lot of help from his team and they played with a lot more effort today to get a win over a hot Wildcat team. Not perfect, but a step in the right direction.

They looked good They were not perfect on defense but they looked much better.
I also liked how they had several different schemes on offense.
Great play calling by Lon Kruger.

Defense is about attitude. That goes for football as well. The offense has the advantage. They know what they're running.

Buddy Hield, Jordan Woodard, Isaiah Cousins and Ryan Spangler cut their teeth on effort and attitude.

Great post. One thing this team seems to be lacking is grittiness and scrappers. Players like Kevin Bookout, Ace McGhee, Ernie Ambercrombie, or as BC mentioned, Ryan Spangler.

Too bad it took OU this long into conference to put together a game they capable of executing, offensively and defensively. Had they played this way during conference play, OU would probably be looking at 4-6 more wins this season.

But, a good win nonetheless as lots of guys contributed offensively and defensively. OU was 14-2 and ranked #4 when the Sooners went to Manhattan and got schooled on defending Trae Young, which every other B12 team followed this season. Nice to see the Sooners put together a game that included more guys on offense as well as winning the rebound and turnover battle.

Hopefully OU can keep this mojo going the last two games and into the B12 Tourney.
