The game will be in Lexington, Saturday at 1:30. If they win, they will likely play Kentucky.

In the women's bracket, teams seeded 1, 2, 3 or 4 in their region usually host the first two games, although at least one five seed, Mississippi State, is getting to host.

The top seeded team in the Sooner bracket is Notre Dame, who is obviously very good, but a better draw than UConn.

The one seeds are UConn, ND, Baylor and South Carolina. Texas is a two. Kentucky a three.

Six Big XII teams got in. West Virginia is also a six, OSU is a seven and KState a 9.

A&M, who beat OU in December, is a four. Texas is the two that nobody wanted to be. They are in UConn's bracket. Baylor would not have to face UConn until the national finals.

In the discussion about last four in, first four out, Purdue is in the last four and the lowest ranked in RPI of all those who got it, without an automatic bid. So the Sooners should have a good shot in the first round.

There is actually a bit of comparison, not that it is significant. OU beat Boston College. Boston College did beat Purdue in West Lafayette,, IN.

Given that OU is a #6, this is about as good of a draw as we could get. Kentucky is vulnerable, and most #3 seeds really aren't. Kentucky did lose to Vandy in Lexington. But, three of their losses were to South Carolina, and they don't lose in Lexington, except for that Vandy game. But, they don't have that great player that we can't handle or that will shut us down.

I learned something tonight that I didn't know. Their women's basketball team does not play their home games at Rupp Arena. Don't know where, but it's a smaller place. But the NCAA has a rule about going to a regional that you've played in three times or more. You can't.

This year, if Kentucky lasts for four games, they will play their first two at their home court, but the regional is at Rupp Arena. So they'd play their first four in home games. Because of the three game rule, and knowing that one of the four regional sites was Rupp, Kentucky played two of their home games there. But if they last four or more, they won't have to travel anywhere. If they'd played three, they'd have been ineligible to play in the Lexington region.

NCAA championships on the women's side have this flaw, to try to get some extra attendance. How'd you like to be a one seed, Notre Dame, playing Kentucky in the regional final, with the kind of crowd that would show up at Rupp? Seems more than a little unfair.

BC had a very interesting season. In non conference games, they were 12-1 with the only loss to OU inthe Bahama's I think. But in ACC games, they were 2-14. Makes you wonder of somebody got hurt, but mostly, except for OU and Purdue, they played teams that weren't very good out of the conference. And the ACC has some pretty good women's basketball schools.

Duke had made the tournament every season since the early 90s, but failed this season. So it must be a pretty good league.
