Statistical comparisons are apples versus oranges comparisons because the SEC and the Big 12 are so different. And this isn't mere "conference supremacy" nonsense here. Look at the Big 12: Texas and Oklahoma are major athletics programs with a lot of resources, great facilities, outstanding traditions and consistently attract blue chip recruits at every position plus hire big name head coaches and experienced assistant coaches. Great. Then you have ... West Virginia, TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma State,Texas Tech, Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa State. How many 5 star recruits have all those programs combined landed in the past 10 years? Now exclude QB, WR, and RB from the list ... how many 5 stars left?

Yes, it makes a difference. TCU has only a 2-3 of guys on their whole defense that are over 250 lbs, and one of those is a 275 lb. senior DT. Their OLBs - if you must call them that - are about 210 to 215 lbs. You can - and probably should - say that they play 3 DLs, 2 LBs and 4 safeties as their base defense. They do this because they can't get the big, athletic versatile front 7 players that you see at other top programs to Forth Worth. So to compensate they play safeties at LB, LBs at DE and DEs at DT and try to use speed.

And at least TCU actually emphasizes defense as part of winning football games. The other programs for the most part just put their best players on offense and try to score as many points as possible because it is their best (only) chance to win. That's why the stats aren't a good indicator.

Agree on stats but performance on the field does not lie. Every time we play a team from the SEC that team's fans spout the same dogma...SEC speed, SEC physicality; SEC defense; SEC in the NFL. Yet the last 4 times we have lined up against an SEC opponent...Tennessee twice, Alabama, and Auburn We have won. Georgia is good but I am confident we will give them all they can handle.

SEC alleged superiority is a myth. The only team they have is Bama who can honestly lay claim as something special...just banged up most of season. Georgia is the paper tiger.

Don't think for a minute that Georgia doesn't want this win as much as OU does, and will fight like rabid Dawgs to take this game.

Both teams believe in the same dream becoming reality. It will take the Sooners' best effort to win. These are the designated contenders, the four best in the land. I know that they happen, but no one should expect anything but a wild west gunfight fight to the finish.

Don't blink. You might miss something that you'll miss dearly later on.

I think Georgia is a great team for the SEC, I dont doubt they will be a tough one to beat. For the past 4 to 5 years Bob was preparing this program for this next cycle....though we fight through the offensive hailstorm called the big12 this team is built to beat the SEC....not one position besides Hollywood Brown could you say that we are less physical in stature....last year when we played Aub was a precursor to this year...for the first time at the SugarBowl we heard someone say that we were more physical and faster than our SEC opponent if you remember during the broadcast...this team was built to beat SEC teams...the increased size in our LBs outside of Beal you can see the trend...our DL is heavier as well no longer do we have the 260-265lb tackles...

offensively; physically we are second to no one not even Clemson...so I am excited to see us play this bowl season...at times even during the TCU games it seemed that we were just playing to wind down the clock...I hope and I think we are ready for this...

Stats against uncommon opponents don't mean much to me, other than in a few instances such as run/pass balance.
