Sooner baseball: Game 1 win over Xavier 7-2.

Sooners trailed 2-0 into the 7th, then scored 7 in one inning.

Perez pitched 7, allowing two runs on six hits. Olson allowed three hits in closing two innings.

Harris drove in three with a double and Ware drove in a pair.

OU will play Louisville Saturday. I believe the Cardinals final was 11-6. Usually the winners play first, but I haven't seen the bracket.

The Big XII went 4-2 on Day One.

Besides the Sooner, West Virginia, with their depleted pitching staff smoked Maryland 9-1.

Texas beat UCLA on the west coast 3-2. And 1 seed Tech overcame a sluggish start to beat Delaware 5-2. TCU was hosting a regional and both games were rained out.

OSU got beat by Missouri State in the Arky regional. Baylor was the Houston regional and lost to A&M 5-2. Because UHouston got upset, they have to beat the 1 seed in the second game to keep from going home. UH lost to Iowa 6-3.

A lot of 1 seeds struggled or got beat. ORU hung with Arkansas, the regular season SEC champ, but lost 3-0. Florida State lost to Tennessee Tech. Overall number 2 North Carolina lost to Stephan Curry's alma mater, Davidson, 8-4. Arizona lost to Sam Houston State. South Alabama beat Mississippi St. Not a great day for the SEC. Breaks my heart.
