Well now that I'm a bit calmer from the cluster fvck that was Bedlam and am now looking towards Kansas I definitely think this might be one of the most important games of the year if we want to go the playoffs. Because this is a game we have to figure things out and are able to experiment with, IMO.
1.) Don't even dress Marquise Brown. We need him to be fully healthy and we don't need him for Kansas. We also clearly don't have anyone to plug in when he's not 100%. Brown had some huge moments in Bedlam but OSU sucks chicken shit on defense. He clearly wasn't healthy. So let him rest and heal up and lets get some reps for both Crawford & Rambo. They're both talented receivers and it's time we get the experience they need in case they have to step in.
2.) O-Line. Man this is tough for me. I don't want them playing past half time and I almost want Creed and Samia to switch places this game so Samia gets reps in case anything happens to Creed.... But I think we need to play them all we can. I know it's Kansas but it's just more film for them. Chances are all of them (sans Creed) are going pro after this season and the more film they have of them dominating the shit out of other teams the more it helps them.
3.) Move Bookie to corner, make Tre Brown a permanent starter on defense, and slide Motley over to Nickel. I'd also move Jordan Parker back to corner where he's flashed some game before and just throw Fields or DTY out there until Haughton is healthy. If it works great. If it doesn't work? Oh well at least it's something new other than expecting the same shit to work even though it hasn't this entire season.
4.) I don't care what you have to do get Tatum out there and then get his ass into overdrive. Dangle playing time over to motivate him. Dangle sorority girls over him to motivate him. We need him and we need him now. Shit his lazy plays are still probably better than some of the garbage we throw out there right now as it is.
5.) I think we need to go back to a 3-4 to finish out this season. I know this board probably is losing it's mind at even the thought of this but our best at having any kind of success this season is when we blitz. The problem when we blitz out of the 4-2 is that every team has read it damn near every time and thrown/run away from it. The 3-4 would allow us to disguise our blitzes more effectively. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe we can disguise them in the 4-2 but I don't trust Ruffin to come up with that. Either way we've gotta do something. Our defense is being read like an open book. It's just a shit show right now.
6.) I'd start benching people for plays at a time if they drop another pick. If corners could catch consistently they'd be receivers yada yada yada. We don't have the luxury of dropping picks. We just don't. Our defense is too bad and is going to be bad the rest of the season. We have to live off of turnovers. We can't keep dropping gifts like that. We've had probably 10ish dropped picks this season? I know of at least like 4 by Bookie alone. This has to be fixed. I'm not asking to pick off every pass thrown your way but we have to get at least one of them per game. Shit if nothing else just go apply glue to their hands. I'd rather caught cheating then get caught not being able to catch a fvcking football.
7.) Also do whatever it takes to get our kids to quit being such massive pussies when it comes to tackling. I'm tired of seeing our MLB getting dragged by a scrawny ass Big 12 RB. Either get it through his dumbass that he needs to start tackling low because he's not strong enough to bring them down with pure strength or get him steroids. A fvcking MLB at the University of Oklahoma is having trouble bringing down smaller backs. How the **** did we end up in this situation.
