Recruiting cycles and success run a season of on-field performance behind. Think about it, while this class of recruits that signed today were forming their opinions as juniors, OU had just finished off a 7-5 season with massive staff turnover. Stoops' job was even in limbo, not actually, but it could've been perceived that way.

We were behind to start with this class. This year's turnaround on the field was only going to be able to sway them so much. It was too little, too late. Plus, though, the stadium upgrades were planned, they still hadn't begun.

On the flip side, 2017 is already, predictably, shaping up to be a big recruiting year. Thanks, IMO, to a our run to the playoff and the obvious progress on facility upgrades.

All these current juniors have a better perception of OU, as is evident by the fast start. As long as we have another 11-2-type year next season, we should easily have a Top 10 class again.

This year, unquestionably, sucked. We signed some talent, but we all agree this class has to be the exception, not the rule.

I think it will be. So let's get Kelly to finish things off on a high note and have a huge 2017 class.
