I'll have some recruiting notes but my thoughts on some guys I got to really watch...
Bryant Wesco - I just could not have been more impressed with him today. He is such a long and fluid receiver but changes Direction easily and has an ability to make catches in so many different angles that it's really quite unique. I believe him to be a top 50 player in the country.
Daniel Cruz - every time I see Cruz he delivers another strong performance. I can say that knowing today was probably the least impressive I've seen him to date. But he is a guy that I think could end up playing at center and could be a very good one with his movement skills and solid base.
Alex Shieldnight - He isn't quite as tall and long as I expected him to be but he moves around well and has a nice base to build off of. I am interested to see how Oklahoma plans to use him as he kind of has an interesting body type but does have a great motor and had a solid day in some of the pass rush drills.
Michael Fasusi - there is just no denying that he is going to be a top 100 player in the class of 2025 and with the right development could push into the five-star conversation some day. He has great feet and moves very well all while playing with good balance. He's very raw and what he's doing is kind of natural to him but as he gets better with hand placement and gets stronger in his upper body he can become a dominant player.
Terry Bussey - I challenge just about any slot corner to deal with him one on one. He has nice burst and easy quick acceleration but he's also well put together and it's difficult to get physical with. He catches the ball well away from his body and to me looks like a very natural slot receiver.
Michael Hawkins - This was the best I've seen him throw the ball in the three or four opportunities I've had to watch him. Thought his accuracy was consistent he was putting the ball where he wanted to and even though I noted him as the quarterback MVP of the camp he actually won the quarterback accuracy challenge. Frankly that's probably more important than the overall MVP due to that being one of the primary questions about Hawkins at this point in his career.
Selman Bridges - I was very intrigued to see him due to his measurables. He is incredibly long but he's also very lean at this point in time. I would guess he's probably 6'3 and 155 lb. Not surprisingly he struggled some with some of the smaller change of Direction receivers but you can tell he's starting to figure out how to use his size and length to reroute receivers and generally slow down their momentum. Given some time he can develop into a quality player.
