It wasn't a stellar win in game one of the Easter weekend series, but OU got just enough offense, and survived a very strange bottom of the seventh, to win 4-1. Weird, because Paige Parker finished her complete game by striking out four in the inning.

But Leah Wodach, getting her first game action in more than two weeks, entered the game in the sixth as a defensive replacement, and allowed a passed ball on strike three to the lead off batter in the final inning. Erin McGinley promptly stole second, went to third on a base hit and score on the second hit of the inning. The visiting Sooners, who'd entered B7 with a 4-0 and Paige Parker, having allowed no base runners through the sixth after a one out double in the first, was suddenly facing the tying run with two out in the 7th, having already struck out three in the inning. Parker struck out Jennifer Marwitz, from Oklahoma City, to end the game. It was Parker's 15th strike out of the game.

OU took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd, after Shay Knighten's lead off walk. She moved to second with two outs on Nicole Pendley's ground out to 3rd, and scored on Alyssa Dalton's single.

In the fifth, Nicole Mendes walked with one out, and went to 3rd on Sydney Romero's single. Romero stole second and both scored on Knighten's single. It was the 11th or 12th consecutive game for Knighten to drive in one run.

In the sixth, Dalton led off with a double and scored on a pinch single by pinch hitter Vanessa Taukeiaho. Parker is now 14-5, and was announced earlier in the week to be on the list for national player of the year.

Paige Parker was brilliant with 15 strike outs & deserved a shutout. The beast in Knighten continues and Dalton is hitting well Leah should remain on the bench She is a good defensive player but has a very weak bat.Her passed ball today almost really hurt us.
