chanting FU Buddy when he's at the free throw line...
No wonder that state is considered a cesspool

Vitale is so annoying - I can't hardly listen to the guy. ESPN should probably put him out to pasture already.
And Buddy came out still talking good things about Simmons at the LSU team. #winner
It's ridiculous to even mention Simmons in the conversation for POY with HeildI think both old dudes would blow Simmons if he'd agree to it. Never heard so much praise for a player who didn't produce much in their biggest game of the year (playing #1) and for a team that played way above their heads but still lost.
Agree Vitale needs to head to pasture. What an ass-clown.
Pryor.... I was at the 2003 National title game so I have to disagree with you! 10% of the fan base is good the rest is disgustingI was at the game with my family and we were treated well. Many stopped us before and after the game to chat with us even congratulating the Sooners. So not all as you suggest.
Can say they are boisterous about loving their Tigers.

I suppose I'm in the minority, but I like Vitale and Musburger. They put some excitement in the game when it is deserved. Okay, sometimes when it's not, but I love that Vitale loves the game and shows it every broadcast. I understand why it might not be somebody's cup o tea, But especially this year, he's taken OUr two most important road games of the year and made them special. And his praise for Buddy, gives OUr beat player a national credibility that he deserves.
Has Buddy earned it? Heck yeah. But the anointing from the country's biggest cheerleader will make him much more likely to receive every award he deserves. Everybody who complains about ESPN's fawning over the SEC in football, can surely understand that when Dickie V said that if the award was given right now, it should be Buddy, that it is that way.
And it's still a crime that he's never got to broadcast an NCAA tournament game.
Can I get a big amen!!Continuing in this vein, I really appreciated the kudos they gave to Lon Kruger. They said the team's personality reflects that of its coach and they couldn't be more right. Our team never gives up, is calm, poised, and focused--regardless of the outcomes which have been mostly positive this year, I might add--and that goes straight to Kruger and his staff.
Oklahoma is not, and probably never will be, a true "blue blood" in college hoops. That said, the current list of college basketball coaches better than Kruger is a pretty short one. He reflects superbly on the University of Oklahoma and we're unbelievably lucky to have him.
