I have immediately dismissed any possibility of LR going to Baton Rouge as I'm sure 99% of you have as well. I just can't see him doing that for several reasons but the main one is the way that would be back-stabbing his mentor Stoops who handed him the keys to the Ferrari. That, along with the fact that OU will be in the same conference with LSU in a couple of years doesn't seem to be something LR would do.
However, there is this report from Football Scoop:
"The other potential LSU candidate continuing to be discussed for the LSU job is Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley. Scott Woodward knows a Riley hire would bring a new found level of excitement to the Bayou.
Multiple current Power 5 assistants in recent days have told FootballScoop that Riley's name continues to circulate among the industry and within coaching circles."
Is this mainly just LSU expressing interest in Riley? Most likely. I'm sure they are interested in him but that doesn't necessarily mean that he has any interest in them whatsoever. It could also be the Gundy move of taking the interview to negotiate a higher salary.
The article also lists Mel Tucker as a top candidate along with exploring whether Jimbo would be interested as well.
All in all I still can't see any way that he leaves for another college job, just thought the above nugget was interesting.
