Dline is average
LB are decent but not great
DB are fair
Safeties are below average to bad
Scheme is weak
Fundamentals are below average
The talent is there. We are not letting them play! How is that not obvious? The tackling is on the players. The rest is the scheme.
Not really.
Dline the talent is average
LB average
DB below average but a few young. And they are small
S, below average and thin.
NoWould Mike even still be here if his last name wasn’t stoops?
Texas OL has been weak this year but today they looked pretty good against our Line. I wish to God we'd go back to running a true 4-3 or 4-2-5 with true DE's instead of Jack lb's that are just too small to hold the edges Imo. We got zero pressure on Ehlinger until Stoops decided to blitz and then I don't recall him really going back to it.What I'd give to have a few Jeremy Beal's, Dan Cody's or Austin English's again.Dline is average

You're wrong. Sorry.
Bledsoe, Gallimore, Murray, Perkins, Brown, Bookie are all very talented. We are handcuffing them with the dumbest scheme I've ever seen.

LMAOA magic 8 ball could call a better game
Bledsoe and Galimore are decent to average. Perkins is way to young, he shows promise. Brown is good but at 5'9 5'10 to small, to be elite or great. Bookie at 5'8 and playing safety is the biggest travesty maybe in all of College football and just might be the worst tackler outside of Norwood. He's young but should be playing CB.
Murray is a good player, he is the only player that I would call good. Brown has shown he plays bigger then he is, but nothing elite. Norwood is the worst tackler and Bolton doesn't make a lot of mistakes but anything over 4 steps, he usually takes a bad or below average angle. Plus he's nothing more then a slow safety.
I don't believe we have 1, DB/CB that is 6'0 barefoot
The issues are as follows.
4 man fronts are not typically 2 or 3 real knuckle in the ground Dlineman. It's 4 Dlineman, period. Give me those 260lbs+ DE and 290-330 DT and NG
Get some real deal DE. Recruit LB that can cover TE and screens but can take on Olinemen. That's 230-250lbs. Terry is our biggest LB
We play and recruit 70% slow safeties to play LB.
We have no real size at DB, way to many 5'9 but measure 5'10 in cleats. Recruit some 6'0 with good hips instead of 5'9 with great hips.
We have nothing at safety. Bookie at 5'8 185lbs is not a safety
Realize, 6'1-6'3 200- 210lbs is the right size to play safety.
DE needs to be 240-290lbs
LB need to 230-250lbs with one smaller but 220-230lbs
Big XII teams and where they rank nationally in total defense....Not really.

OU defensively ranked behind Kansas, Texas Tech and Baylor. Good God !Big XII teams and where they rank nationally in total defense....
8. TCU
19. WVU
31. Iowa State
76. Texas
84. Texas Tech
90. OSU
96. Kansas
104. Baylor
108. OU
109. KSU
So when you say the talent just isn't there. Does that mean you actually think the rest of the Big XII (other than KSU) has better defensive talent than OU??? Check recruiting classes for the last handful of years, and OU has out-recruited the rest of the Big XII BY A MILE for defensive players.
Don't forget Texas Tech!!!OU defensively ranked behind Kansas, Texas Tech and Baylor. Good God !
