Does anyone know why Sermon got most of the snaps? Was Brooks banged up or in the dog house? When Sermon is starting, the running game seems to struggle.

To me, it looked like UT was attacking the run game, and Sermon's direct style was better suited than Brooks' hesitation style. By the time Brooks decided where the hole was, he was already getting tackled. I just think the defense dictated that we played Sermon instead.

Brooks was really hesitant yesterday. Sermon was hitting the holes hard. Brooks wasn’t able to make anyone miss and even fell down on a shoe string tackle, a lot of stuff very uncharacteristic to how he had been playing as of recent

They are two different kind of running backs. Sermon runs with power, a determined runner, reluctant to go down and normally takes two to bring him down while Brooks is a glider, runs with less power but will run through an arm tackle and has subtle moves to avoid being tackled. Texas was stacking the line in an attempt to slow down the run. When running backs are averaging over 6 & 8 yards a carry that's a must otherwise you'll get steam rolled. Against Bama, Sermon will get most of the attempts. But if our OL can dominate (difficult) you'll see Brooks more.

One thing that I really havent seen much of this year, is a screen game. Would like to see Reily use Brooks with a few screens.
