Would Bob be willing to clean up Riley's shit show? A second stint? Bill Snyder did it at Kstate for heaven's sake. Bob's got alot of miles left and I consider him to be top tier of football minds in cfb period. Is this a possibility?
Bob was on the decline when he left. I think he knows he can do a lot more in his current capacity in helping to find the best coach possible.Would Bob be willing to clean up Riley's shit show? Bob wasn't on the decline. I think Bob stepped down because of pressure from the AD and philosophy in direction of the program. Surely did backfire as the mistake of hiring Riley has proved.Bob was on the decline when he left. How Mike made it back here and managed to last so long is mind boggling.I think the Mike problem had a lot to do with Bob stepping down. He didn’t want to deal with it.
This is the first time I have seen or heard anyone say there was pressure from Joe C on Bob to step aside. Where did you get this impression? Nothing could be further from the truth. Bob lost his enthusiasm for recruiting and a few other aspects of the HC position. Joe C has never had anything but the highest praise for Bob and the path OU was on. The Mike saga took a toll on Bob as well but it was from the fan base and not the admin.Bob wasn't on the decline. Bob's an incredibly smart man as well as coach. It's those few other aspects as HC you suggested. There had to be pressure in there somehow someway. When you say he lost his enthusiasm for recruiting, in the game he loves? This statement speaks volumes my man. The culture of the ncaa at the behest of the professional league and networks has swayed the think-tanks at all the big boy schools, obviously. Bob didn't buy into the direction and stepped down. This is all I'm saying. Bob didn't buy in. 😁This is the first time I have seen or heard anyone say there was pressure from Joe C on Bob to step aside. Where did you get this impression? The talent level at OU had dropped the last several years under Bob. It was time for new blood and he knew it.Bob's an incredibly smart man as well as coach. We woulda never been the laughingstock we are now brother. New blood didn't fix a god dam thing. In fact, that jackass Riley set us back a few years. ImoThe talent level at OU had dropped the last several years under Bob. It was time for new blood and he knew it.
Impossible! Joe C. is not going anywhere soon and Bob simply does not possess the skills. AD is a huge task. Bob is football. Joe C. is all athletic programs. How about Bob as AD? Anyone ever consider that?
