UPDATE: SUN 9:04a - Guys, spoke with all of the guys mentioned.
1) Jon-Michael Terry talked about how meaningful it was to be around the Marines and what that meant to him. Just a very solid kid; his personality reminds me of Dimitri Flowers in a lot of ways.
2) Amani Bledsoe talked about nearing his choice and how he wants to have it over with. I can't help but wonder if he has a plan to go home and announce and be done with it. I think he has a much better idea of his plan than he is letting on.
Also when he was done he and Austin Kendall introduced themselves to one another. I know some will think that is a day late since everything ends tomorrow but being on different teams they are usually doing the same thing but with different groups.
3) Talking about Austin Kendall he and I discussed his upcoming departure for Norman on Jan. 14. We also discussed how OU had kept him in the loop on the potential transfer of a quarterback. I don't think he cared much about who it was but mentioned Kyle Allen and Will Grier by name as guys OU mentioned to him.
Pretty interesting stuff.
4) Finally yesterday I spoke with Marcel Southallwho was as fun an interview as any I did. He was in a good mood and comfortable talking.
He admitted that some around his decision already have an idea where they want him to go before his official visits to Miami, OSU, and Ole Miss this month.
I think that is a good sign and asked him if he did too and he laughed before saying no.
I think OU is in good shape but with three big visits it isn't a sure thing.
ORIGINAL: Ok guys, been an abominable trip.
First all of my pictures from yesterday were corrupted due to a crap card reader.
Then today a nearly new rental car had all sorts of issues so I was absurdly late leaving the hotel...then hit traffic and then the East ended practice two hours early .
So I saw next to nothing of Austin Kendall but am set to speak with him during media availability in a few hours.
I am so sorry guys, I had planned to spend all day today watching him, I am so disappointed.
Also planning to speak with Amani Bledsoe, Marcel Southall, and JMT.
Such a stupid trip but hopefully I have it all out of the way before seeing five-star Caleb Kelly and Co. Next week in San Antonio.
