I mean, dang, what more do you want? Adding Ringo is huge, so huge. He's originally from Washington so the Dawgs will be in it. He has the ties to Texas so the Horns are gonna be in it.
OU needed a sign that it was still worth pursuing. This is it. And getting it as an unofficial is actually really good if you can save that official for later in this process.
Again, firm belief that Ringo is the only DB that holds all the cards. He can dictate his process and getting him to Norman with Lincoln Riley and with Alex Grinch, that's nice.
Add in the Arizona factor, and we'll see. Still believe Covington is an OU commit by weekend's end. Then you've got your five-star quarterback signee in Rattler telling Ringo to join the club.
Obviously, Ringo is not committing anywhere this weekend. But it's about making up ground to make this a level playing field again. Because right now? It's not. Texas is squarely out in front of everybody. Now OU strikes back.

2. Commitments galore about to go down
Yea, it's about to happen. Initially said there was no way it would surpass seven of last year. But it could.
Last year?
- Arjei Henderson (signed with Florida)
- Theo Wease (at OU)
- Jamal Morris (at OU)
- Jaylan Knighton (now back on open market)
- Derek Green (now at Vanderbilt)
- Jay Hayes (played with UGA)
- Jarrian Jones (signed with Mississippi State)
That's actually what is sort of a bit strange is that the weekend itself actually didn't net a lot of positive results, but it laid the groundwork for guys like Stacey Wilkins, EJ Ndoma-Ogar, Jadon Haselwood, Joseph Wete. And the momentum carried into getting other guys in those recent months like Jonathan Perkins, Marcus Hicks.
This year didn't see seven coming. But ya drop Jalen Huff, Darion Green-Warren and Kundarrius Taylor, and all bets are off. You could easily get five or six from 2020 and then another random from 2021 to get that class started.
Let's set the over/under at 5.5 and see where the weekend takes us.
- Jacobe Covington
- Ryan Watts
- Dontae Manning
- Major Burns
- Akinola Ogunbiyi
- Chris Tyree?
- Maybe a surprise 2020?
- The first 2021?
There definitely could be a recruit that's feeling the moment and makes the jump that comes out of nowhere. There are so many names that could surface this weekend as eyes, so give credit to Riley and staff for bringing that anticipation feeling back again.

3. Just enjoy it.
This week/end should be a lot of fun for OU and its recruiting. So my advice, hey, have some fun.

Bonus
A lil light this week for the Illegitimate Son b/c will be carrying the load for recruiting this week with Josh on a family vacation. Content isn't disappearing, just producing it in different ways and spreading it out through the week.
