Below are the highlights from Thursday night 'mini-scrimmage' at Moore Stadium.
SCOOPHD: Norman North vs. Edmond Santa Fe
* 2018 Norman North cornerback Isaac Stoops -- yes, one of the twins -- had two interceptions on the night making his first start on the varsity stage. The second INT of the night would have been a pick-6 had it not been whistled dead.
* Not to be outdone by his twin bro, Drake Stoops hauled in a touchdown reception during the 'Rapid Fire' portion of the scrimmage (see GIF below). Think you all will remember being introduced to him at the Sooners high school camp over the summer.
It'll really be fun to watch those two compete over the next few years. Rather advanced players for being so young.
* Norman North knocked off Edmond Santa Fe 31-14 during the mini-scrimmage. Really I was rather impressed by Norman North ... nice collection of young players to go along with some vets (think: Quan Hogan).
SCOOPHD: Tulsa Union vs. Westmoore
* Tulsa Union won the mini-scrimmage 27-10
* 2016 Tulsa Union WR Kameron McQueen hauled in two very impressive receptions. His first being the jaw dropper you can see in the GIF below.
* 2016 Edmond Santa Fe RB Darran Williams makes long runs with the football in his hands everytime I see him play. Someone will end up taking a chance on him, and I bet are pleased when they do.
* 2017 Tulsa Union CB Tre Brown is a terrific CB ... won't see very many teams throwing to his side of the field. He was in Norman over the weekend on an unofficial.
* 2016 Tulsa Union RB Tyler Adkins didn't carry the ball much ... more of a 'he doesn't really need to prove anything' ... regardless he did have a couple good runs, including about a 10-yard touchdown run.
