After getting Riley, first crack at Calvin Thibodeaux. Man, we asked about everybody.
Calvin Thibodeaux
- Neville Gallimore is finally starting to get it. Physical freak but has to put it all together. And putting it all together in camp isn't same as doing it in games.
- Physical practices have led to some guys being banged up and missing time. But... all defensive linemen were out there Friday. It's nothing major for any of 'em at this point.
- Still no vocal leader. Thibs said that's OK at this juncture. Point remains until you make plays consistently on Saturdays, it's hard to lead a group.
- Goal continues to be multiple. Need to be able to play 3-4, 4-3, need to recruit guys who can do that as well.
- Pleased with Tyreece Lott's progress. He's around 295-300 pounds now, said Thibs. Stronger at point of attack. He's next man up for Bledsoe's spot.
- Ronnie Perkins simply has a different mentality. A tough-minded person. Being at OU in spring helped him. Guys like Ron Tatum and Jordan Kelley are coming along, but:
"Their eyes are wide. Cloudy mind, slow feet. They’re trying to figure it out." - Thibodeaux
- Proud of Kenneth Mann and how he has developed. Vital piece to DL puzzle, Thibs said Mann is bigger than D.J. Ward. Still not a vocal guy, but when Mann speaks, everybody listens.
Yo, Isaiah Thomas:
"Isaiah is pushing. He’s working his butt off. He’s taken some jumps. We have some guys in front of him, though, but he’s continuing to come along." - Thibodeaux
