After rewatching most of the game I just don’t understand why we continued to have our safeties and CBs so far off the LOS after army showed continually that they were never going to try and trick us with a pass. Check out this alignment nearing the end of the game on 3rd and 3:
And then where our DBs are after the RB already got the first down:
I know you aren’t supposed to blitz a lot against triple option teams, but how come we didn’t even adjust out of our two safety look when we know what was coming? Especially on 3rd and short? Saturday reminded me of the Baylor fiasco in this regard.
If we had one more guy inside the box throughout the game on D I don’t think we have such an issue stopping the damn run all night.
