UPDATE: 8:52a - Oklahoma has made the top eight cut for five-star defensive end, and the nation's No. 1 JUCO prospect, Jonathan Kongbo.

ORIGINAL:
OK guys, yesterday Scoop reported that Texas was beginning to show very real interest in Waco La Vega Oklahoma Rivals250 cornerback commitment Parrish Cobb.

Well I've been doing some checking on a few different rumors I'd heard and wanted to report what we have.

First the one I can confirm. Cobb was visited at school, and home, by the Texas coaching staff (which members of the staff I'm not yet sure of). I don't have a huge impression that this is of great concern to some people around Norman because it's not something Cobb or his family has tried to hide.

Generally that's a good sign, it is when communication starts to breakdown that things are usually becoming a real concern.

There had also been a rumor of Cobb taking an official visit to Texas this weekend but I can say that has not happened.

I also get the impression that Oklahoma is still working on a few things and will be prepared to handle things if something goes awry.

Regardless expect Cobb to be a guy that we'll be tracking over the next few weeks which brings me to the next bit of news...

As usual, we're going to be pushing more effort into the daily notes and the timeliness of information rather than hoarding much of anything for the Scoop. We'll still produce a Scoop each week but it won't be of the same caliber you all are used to as we'll be putting more and more into the daily notes.

Just wanted to let you all know that 'the time has come'.
