Rose Bowl Accomodations & Things To Do

Traffic anywhere in LA is not ideal. And actually LC is more ideal than most places to get to Pasadena.

Most areas have some aspect of scandal in LA. My house is steps away from where the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns and Roses and numerous bands recorded their most famous albums. The Harry Houdini estate is a short walk away too.

And, from my house to the game is 35 minutes. Downtown LA to the game is roughly 30 even though it is closer to the Rose Bowl in terms of mileage.

Laurel Canyon is where The Doors - "Love Street" is.

Yes, that location may be relatively easy to get to the Rose Bowl, but my comment was aimed towards not just a single venture out, but rather repeated ins/outs to get around.

Laurel Canyon is a very slow-moving, twisty, windy, one-lane-in-each-direction road. I avoid it at all costs. I would hate to have to get from a driveway onto that road several times a day.

I think the location is good. It would be a great place to stay for a few days. You are not in the heart of an entertainment area but you are a short drive away from a lot of good places to visit.

Fair enough. But that’s not been my experience. It’s incredibly central and less than 1 mile to enjoy the sunset strip. West Hollywood 10 mins. Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive in 15 mins. Downtown in 20 mins. Santa Monica/Venice Beach 35 minutes. Malibu via expressway 35 minutes. It’s smack dab in the middle of it all. I’ve timed all of these rides personally. I think people protest too much about traffic. It’s the second largest city in the United States. Given 14 million people live in LA - it’s honestly very reasonable. But I am a glass half full type of guy. Just feel grateful I’m here on this thing called Earth and enjoying life.

Forgot to mention - universal studios is less than 10 minutes from my home too. If you have kids or a kid at heart.

I went to the Rose Bowl when we played Washington State. My son lives in West Hollywood so I always stay at The London West Hollywood. No matter where you stay....go early. If you want to park at or near the stadium with relatively easy access....go early. The Rose Parade staging will limit access and force one to take the long way around.
