OFFENSE:
QB: Caleb Williams - 96 - Man alive, try and remind yourself he is going to get BETTER. SO STINKING MUCH BETTER.
RB: Kennedy Brooks - 80 - He wasn't asked to do much so it's hard to punish him too much. Ran hard on his chances.
WR: Jadon Haselwood - 81 - Miraculous early catch gave Oklahoma some room to breathe. Wasn't a huge day but very solid.
WR: Marvin Mims - 93 - Mr. Big play was back to his normal activity this afternoon.
HB: Jeremiah Hall - 76 - Very quiet day for him.
TE: Austin Stogner - 76 - Got the start, and a touchdown catch. Thought he was pretty good but again OU's issues in the run game have multiple causes.
OT: Anton Harrison - 84 - I still continue to think he is coming on very nicely.
OG: Marquis Hayes - 75 - Not really his type of game but I only saw one bad bust - we'll see what review shows.
C: Robert Congel - N/A - I mean he just wasn't there long enough to really grade anything.
OG: Chris Murray - 77 - Again, not OU's best OL at this point int he year but probably the most consistent from snap to snap.
OT: Tyrese Robinson - 82 - Thought he was very steady though there were a few moments where focus waned.
Offensive Average: 82.0 (820)
DEFENSE:
DE: Reggie Grimes - 83 - Active, thought he looked much better not having to be 'the guy' in pass rush.
NT: Perrion Winfrey - 81 - It was definitely better, not perfect but much better.
DT: Isaiah Thomas - 94 - Had some huge plays early on that really set the tone and then of course the 4th quarter fumble.
RUSH: Nik Bonitto - 80 - Incredibly quiet day, Oklahoma needs more, they've just got to get it.
LB: DaShaun White - 61 - I thought he was good at rallying, great effort but still missing too many tackles.
LB: Brian Asamoah - 70 - Man, just wasn't very physical struggled to stand up backs a few times.
NB: Justin Broiles - 71 - Had some ugly stuff early in the game but can't ignore the big pick - even if it was a trip drill scenario.
CB: Key Lawrence - 89 - Man, this experiment still seems crazy to me but Oklahoma may have found something here until Washington returns.
CB: D.J. Graham - 80 - Very solid first return, his length was a problem for the Red Raiders.
S: Pat Fields - 73 - See Broiles.
S: Delarrin Turner-Yell - 87 - Started really slow, maybe he was trying to do too much? But his impact was clear over the last two and a half quarters.
Defensive Average: 79 (869)
SPECIAL TEAMS:
K: Gabe Brkic - 97 - A 53-yard field goal, perfect on extra points and even his non touchbacks were well done.
P: Michael Turk - 76 - A 33-yard punt, I wasn't even aware that was a possibility.
KR: Mario Williams - 74 - One return that didn't net a ton.
KR: Marvin Mims - XX - N/A
PR: Marvin Mims - XX -
Special Teams Average: 82.3 (247)
Key Reserves:
QB: Spencer Rattler - 84 - Regardless of whatever you feel, everyone should feel good about Rattler getting to have that moment on the field with his teammates.
WR: Mario Williams - 93 - Easily his biggest game as a Sooner and considering the bond with his young quarterback, it's no surprise.
WR: Drake Stoops - 88 - All he does is making important, and/or tough, catches.
OL: Andrew Raym - 85 - Thought he did a nice job protecting Williams on a day in which there was one sack and three quarterback hurries.
DT: Jalen Redmond - 84 - He started slow but grew into the game and was nasty in run defense at times.
DE: Ethan Downs - 79 - Again, so freaking active. Created problems for Tech in the second quarter.
LB: Caleb Kelly - 60 - Wasn't a great day, Oklahoma needs Stripling and Clayton Smith to be ready.
LB: Danny Stutsman - 82 - Special teams, at linebacker, dude just makes freaking plays.
Reserves Average: 81.9 (655)
Team Average: 81 (2591)
My Team Grade: 82
Breakdown: I'm not quite sure where I want the difference in a point to come from but I did think that was one of the better performances Oklahoma has put together in the past two seasons. It's far from perfect and I'm a bit baffled by the running game - other than to say that, for some reason - Tech decided to try and force Caleb Williams to beat them. Why in the hell would you do that?
At any rate, Oklahoma is in great shape going forward with their clear quarterback of the future and playmakers starting to emerge all over the field. If the offensive line can continue to gel and make tonight look more like a matter of defensive alignment and personnel groupings than simply being unable to run because they couldn't win at the line of scrimmage.
The defense, looked like the aggressive group that we're all more familiar with, lots of press coverage lots of aggressive blitzing and attacking up front. I also thought the defensive line looked like they might have slanted more and stunted less but we'll see upon further review.
Scoring Standard:
100-82: Playoff Contender
82-74: Big 12 Title Contender
74-65: Bowl Game Participant
65-0: 'I'll be hoooome for Christmas
