QB: Kyler Murray - 91 - Really had a strong day, at times was victimized by ODD calls.
RB: Trey Sermon - 89 - Injury was only thing that slowed this from being a big day for him.
HB: Carson Meier - 93 - Had some great catches and blocking, as ever, looked strong.
TE: Grant Calcaterra - 72 - Anyone notice him tonight?
WR: Marquise Brown - 89 - Still not fully healthy but man can the guy impact a game.
WR: Cedarian Lamb - 86 - That sideline catch was something else, still shocked he didn't come down with the TD.
LT: Bobby Evans - 87 - Thought he had a few issues in pass pro.
LG: Ben Powers - 90 - Wasn't as good as he has been but was strong.
C: Creed Humphrey - 91 - Had a few bad snaps but beyond that can't come up with a lot of issues.
RG: Dru Samia - 90 - Still playing at such a high level, maybe the best stretch of his career.
RT: Cody Ford - 93 - Thought he was absolutely dominant.
Offensive Average: 88.3 (971)
DEFENSE:
DE: Kenneth Mann - 75 - He was solid in run but his pass rush presence has vanished.
DT: Neville Gallimore - 83 - Was, largely, strong in the run game but sack was a huge play.
DT: Amani Bledsoe - 68 - Thought he was ok, not a lot more.
DE: Ronnie Perkins - 74 - Did a better job getting his hands into passing lanes than any lineman.
LB: Kenneth Murray - 79 - Was lackluster in pass defense but was a big part of strong run D.
LB: Curtis Bolton - 75 - What a wild game, BIG plays both ways.
LB: Caleb Kelly - 60 - Set the edge well a few times but largely looked lost.
CB: Tre Brown - 60 - Gave up a lot underneath all night, at least his tackling was sound.
CB: Tre Norwood - 25 - Oh man, he'll want to burn this tape, Tylan Wallace will live in his nightmares. Did have one nice TFL.
S: Robert Barnes- 62 - Have to watch again but deep issues HAD to be connected.
S: Brendan Radley-Hiles - 74 - Thought he was active but still falling short of making big plays.
Defensive Average: 66.8 (735)
SPECIAL TEAMS:
K: Austin Seibert - 87 - Kicked some key field goals and, as ever, a gaggle of extra points.
P: Austin Seibert - 81 - I'm a huge fan of him as a punter but wasn't his best night.
KR: Tre Brown - 55 - Some TRULY bad choices in the return game.
PR: Cedarian Lamb - 91 -His first big-time return, still seems to field too often inside the 10.
Special Teams Average: 78.5 (314)
KEY RESERVES:
RB: Kennedy Brooks - 94 - Down to just one back, Brooks answered in a huge way for the Sooners.
WR: Lee Morris - 81 - Steady as he goes.
DT: Tyreece Lott - 72 - I thought he had some positive moments in the run game.
CB: Parnell Motley - 60 - Better than last week...I think?
S: Jordan Parker - 60 - Didn't notice him all night but in the secondary maybe that's a good thing.
Reserves Average: 69.4 (347)
Team Average: 76.4 (2367)
My Team Grade: 70
I suppose it's only fair to acknowledge that a good bit of my team grade coming out lower than the average did is built on some of the incredibly odd decisions made on both sides of the ball today. I get that Lincoln Riley is an aggressive coach and likes to go for it on third down and his repeated run calls on third and long were made with hopes of setting up a fourth and manageable that they could try and go for.
However, after the second attempt it should have been clear it was something OSU was keying on and the draw by Kyler Murray should have been disregarded.
Defensively? I just don't know what they are doing with all of the pass drops, it's not that it doesn't have it's purpose but the reality is that Oklahoma just doesn't have a secondary that can cover for 3.5+ seconds. That's not their game, they are going to have to live with trying to create mistakes and force the issue.
Scoring Standard:
100-82: Playoff Contender
82-74: Big 12 Title Contender
74-65: Bowl Game Participant
