A High School Football Field Somewhere
OFFENSE:

QB: Caleb Williams - 77 - First half was bad, some forced throws but man that second half he looked like the guy we've seen.
RB: Kennedy Brooks - 73 - I think he might be hitting the wall a bit from eight straight weeks, team could use a break.
WR: Jadon Haselwood - 71 - I didn't think he was too bad from the pieces I saw (more on that below).
WR: Marvin Mims - 64 - This offense is just not the same when he isn't in rhythm.
WR: Drake Stoops - 71 - Had some key catches for Oklahoma.
TE: Brayden Willis - 60 - Oklahoma had real problems on the edge today.
OT: Anton Harrison - 72 - Thought he was good in pass protection and probably the best of the OL on the day.
OG: Marquis Hayes - 65 - Costly personal foul but did think he had good moments.
C: Andrew Raym - 60 - The sack on OU's first drive, feels like the MIKE should have been accounted for there.
OG: Chris Murray - 63 - Seems like his performances are starting to regress a bit.
OT: Tyrese Robinson - 69 - Sure seemed like Oklahoma tried to lean on running right and didn't find it very often.

Offensive Average: 67.7 (745)

DEFENSE:

DE: Reggie Grimes - 65 - A few plays I'd like to see again thought he might have got caught sneaking inside a few times.
NT: Perrion Winfrey - 63 - Man he really struggled in the first quarter but supplied some penetration in the run game.
DT: Isaiah Thomas - 68 - It's not terrible, he's being asked to play out of position but he's not giving them what they need.
RUSH: Nik Bonitto - 77 - Flashed some big moments but wasn't consistent enough.
LB: DaShaun White - 45 - Some terrible angles, just terrible.
LB: Brian Asamoah - 68 - I don't understand what happened on that penalty but he made a few plays in space.
NB: Justin Broiles - 55 - Bad tackling, missed coverages, plenty of issues.
CB: Jaden Davis - 40 - It's become Broiles of 2020, his play is just so consistently an issue.
CB: Billy Bowman - 40 - Ouch, just ouch. I think we can call this experiment over. He's went from one of the team's best defenders to its worst.
S: Pat Fields - 45 - Again Fields is a great kid, great leader, etc., etc. but his athleticism becomes an issue even against Kansas.
S: Key Lawrence - 82 - The only player on the defense who has much reason to feel good about his day.

Defensive Average: 58.9 (648)

SPECIAL TEAMS:

K: Gabe Brkic - N/A -
P: Michael Turk - 90 - Another day, another 60+ yard rocket.
KR: Mario Williams - N/A -
KR: Marvin Mims - N/A -
PR: Marvin Mims - 82 - Decent punt return that felt like it was close to going for more.

Special Teams Average: 86 (172)

Key Reserves:

RB: Eric Gray - 71 - Thought he flashed some good things in the passing game. Feels like OU is finding his role more and more.
HB: Jeremiah Hall - 60 - Fumble and a few misses in the blocking game made this a less than stellar day.
WR: Trevon West - 81 - Hey, there's the playmaker that you all believed in out of high school, ha.
DE: Ethan Downs - 78 - Loved what I saw of him, should have gotten credit for a tackle for loss he created.
LB: Danny Stutsman - 60 - Pretty sure he got caught too far inside on the big Kansas run in the first quarter.
LB: David Ugwoegbu - 55 - Was good in the second half IMO but the first half he looked out of position repeatedly.
CB: Latrell McCutchin - 55 - You can tell the young guy is fighting himself right now. Confidence looks shaky.
CB: Josh Eaton - 60 - Nearly had a pick but also, presumably under instruction, was wayyyyy off on Kansas' final scoring drive.

Reserves Average: 65 (520)

Team Average: 65.2 (2085)

My Team Grade:
50

Breakdown: This is the worst performance I've seen by an Oklahoma team in my time covering the Sooners. People love to say 'oh the team thought they could just roll their helmets out there' but it's rarely ever that cut and dry. This one? You just can't find any other way for it. The defense, the offense, no one had any thought that they were going to be pushed by Kansas.

And I raise my hand in agreement.

The fact that Oklahoma struggled, at times, to impose their will on the ground against Kansas is ominous for the future when they start facing defenses with a pulse.

Oklahoma has another team they should have five touchdowns better than next weekend and I think we'll learn a lot about this team next Saturday. I'm willing to give them some leeway as the past two weeks have been total chaos with a change at quarterback and all that it means. However, this team has got to find some killer instinct or it's just going to find a way to lose multiple games before the end of the season.

NOTE: I missed the first half live and quickly went back and watched what I could, there's going to be some stuff I REALLY disagree with after I can go back over it on Monday.

Scoring Standard:

100-82: Playoff Contender
82-74: Big 12 Title Contender
74-65: Bowl Game Participant
65-0: 'I'll be hoooome for Christmas
