QB: Kyler Murray - 98 - So many completions but that third down conversion? That's not fair.
RB: Trey Sermon - 87 - Didn't need to do much, but was decisive today and showed off his, always, great vision.
TE: Grant Calcaterra - 86 - Probably his most consistent work as a Sooner.
WR: A.D. Miller - 78 - Had some decent blocks but wasn't a big impact in the passing game.
WR: Cedarian Lamb - 95 - I think it being KSU is about the only thing that kept this from being a bit higher.
WR: Myles Tease - 83 - Really solid day, nearly had a beautiful touchdown.
LT: Bobby Evans - 91 - Bad penalty early on but man he pulled beautifully all day.
LG: Ben Powers - 97 - He broke some of the will of the interior of the Kansas State DL.
C: Creed Humphrey - 92 - He keeps growing as a player but this was his crowning achievement to date.
RG: Dru Samia - 90 - I don't know what's come over him but the guy is hitting his stride.
RT: Cody Ford - 93 - I'm still just amazed at his pass protection, guy is so far ahead of where he has any reason to be.
Offensive Average: 90 (990)
DEFENSE:
DE: Kenneth Mann - 85 - Created some pressure, made some plays.
DT: Neville Gallimore - 87 - He seems to be gaining some momentum since the 2nd half in the Cotton Bowl.
DT: Amani Bledsoe - 86 - I loved his versatility and thought he had his best game since UCLA.
DE: Ronnie Perkins - 82 - The move to the 4-3 hasn't been bad for Perkins but hasn't been the boom I expected.
LB: Kenneth Murray - 91 - People will knock this score but guy was all over the field and fought through injury.
LB: Curtis Bolton - 92 - Bolton was very aggressive and played so well down hill.
LB: Mark Jackson - 72 - He started but didn't log a single stat, not AWFUL just no impact.
CB: Tre Brown - 75 - Same song, second verse.
CB: Tre Norwood - 76 - Gave up one completion that I saw but was otherwise solid, and unnoticed.
S: Robert Barnes- 83 - Barnes came up and played run well, showing real signs of life.
S: Brendan Radley-Hiles - 77 - Big hit, he seems to be finding a role in the new...what...ideas?
Defensive Average: 82.4 (906)
SPECIAL TEAMS:
K: Austin Seibert - 93 - Was outstanding on kickoffs and perfect on all his placekicking (no big kicks though).
P: Austin Seibert - 85 - One 36-yard punt...talk about a light day.
KR: Tre Brown - N/A -
PR: Cedarian Lamb - 86 - Really like how decisive Lamb is on punt returns, not sure he has elite return ability but makes good choices, is good with the ball, and gets what is there.
Special Teams Average: 88 (264)
KEY RESERVES:
RB: Kennedy Brooks - 91 - Just another star performance.
RB: T.J. Pledger - 83 - Ran really hard but his 'b' button may have gotten stuck a few times.
OT: Adrian Ealy - 84 - Really looked nice pulling, continuing to think he is a future star.
DE: Jalen Redmond - 85 - Man, talk about a guy showing some scary potential.
LB: DaShaun White - 80 - Showed some great instincts.
NB: Justin Broiles - 81 - It was just one play but it was a big one, and who breaks up a pass with the outside arm?
Reserves Average: 84 (504)
Team Average: 85.9 (2664)
My Team Grade: 87
The only thing holding me back from a higher score is that Kansas State is just flat out bad and unlike any Bill Snyder team I've ever seen, they flat out quit in the second half.
Does it even have to be said anymore that this offense is absurdly talented? It's just unbelievable what they can do, particularly when the offensive line was clicking at that level. That unit made everything possible for the Sooners offense and the good news for you all is that the second string made a real impact in the third and fourth quarters as well.
Defensively? I was more encouraged by this performance than I was last week against TCU just because Kansas State had a week to look at Oklahoma and come up with some ways to attack the simplification of things that the Sooners are currently focusing on. And they found nearly nothing to win with.
This was an outstanding performance for Oklahoma.
