UPDATE: Tues 11:20a - (Bob) Jacoby Jones breaks his silence, sort of:
A juco kid is a bit different than a HS kid. Pure business decision, and Jacoby Jones is laying low.
"No comment. I'm focusing on my juco season right now. I have talk to the coaches."
Remember, this was him on his official visit:
UPDATE: 10:43a - To add to Bob's note on Rivals250 defensive end Joseph Wete, he hit me back with 'Not at all' when asked about whether this news affected his commitment.
So, at this point, the only guys on defense we haven't heard from are Jonathan Perkins, Jacoby Jones, and Kori Roberson.
UPDATE: 10:30a - Might be the best you get from Wete:
UPDATE: 7:30a - Kelvin Hicks says there's NOTHING to worry about with Marcus Hicks (Bob):
UPDATE: 11:21p - I spoke with Rivals250 safety Jamal Morris about his commitment to Oklahoma following the news of Mike Stoops' tenure as defensive coordinator coming to an end.
"That’s crazy. I was shocked reading it. But at the same time the school wants nothing but the best for the team and would act accordingly to the teams best interest, so I know it’s probably a good move," Morris said.
So this does nothing to your commitment?
"Nothing. But I’m really looking forward to the new DC and seeing how he’s running things and just go from there. I’m confident things will for sure change for the better."
UPDATE: 11:10p - Mother of OU commitment Kori Roberson (Bob):
UPDATE: 11:04p - I spoke to the lone 2020 commitment on the defensive side of the ball, Rivals100 cornerback Darion Green-Warren of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei. And he, like the rest, sounds quite positive at this moment.
"I never want to see anyone lose their job in season but is a business. Spoke with coach (Kerry) Cooks and Coach (Lincoln) Riley today and I'm all the way locked in... #BoomerSooner," Green-Warren said.
He was the second guy I'd talked to who had mentioned speaking with Oklahoma tonight, but he said his conversation was 'right before'.
"It made sense for the call today."
UPDATE: 10:50p
From DL commit Derek Green:
"I feel for coach. He’s a great dude with a great mindset and he loves to win. And the talk about Coach Ruff is great, especially with the number of yrs he’s been coaching.
"But I’m more committed to my coach and the school and Oklahoma will always do the best thing to be champions.
"Haven’t talked to the coaches yet but I’m firm and ik (I know in Twitter lingo) they’re gonna do the right thing." (Bob)
UPDATE: 10:48p - Spoke to the father of defensive tackle commitment Derek Green about his son's commitment to Oklahoma and how that relates to Mike Stoops' no longer being part of things in Norman.
"I don't think it has an influence on Derek's decision to be a Sooner," Arlandis Green said.
UPDATE: 10:10p - And then you have this from four-star cornerback commitment Jaden Davis - to me the most shaky of all the guys in the class based on Mike's connectsions at St. Thomas Aquinas.
UPDATE: 9:20p - Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland Rivals100 cornerback Woodi Washington had a very simple response when asked his thoughts on the news.
"I'm still 100-percent," Washington said.
ORIGINAL: I've just spoken with Kelvin Hicks, father of Rivals250 defensive end Marcus Hicks, about his feelings on today's news.
"Marcus is a little upset but we understand that it was necessary," Hicks said.
So is Marcus still solid with Oklahoma?
"Yes. 100%. Obviously we have to see who is brought in."
...I will keep adding as we talk to more folks.
