It's literally like watching two different teams: the offense comes in and makes majestic plays that dazzle us all. A great catch, a wonderful run, an amazing display of speed from Murray or Brown. Touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown.

And then.

The embarrassment of MS's defense takes center stage -- with endless shots of him up in the booth going crazy, and the opposing offense slowly, methodically, endlessly marching down the field, converting every 3rd down. You can understand what the TV production crew is thinking and wanting to show us....."what in the hell is wrong with this guy?"

OU doesn't have the talent to be an elite defense. But they do have enough talent to be considerably better THIS SEASON. Next year, OU is not likely to have the offense it's had these last two years. Why let another season be lost to a defense that is completely inept.

Just one opinion, but the firing of Mike Stoops today would give the Sooners a chance to win a national championship. It would be a risk. But not THAT much of a risk when you think about it.

Keeping MS in place means (imo), that OU will likely lose a game or two in the conference. Making a change now and improving the defense even slightly could mean playing for a national championship.

Here's to urging LR to do the right thing. Not next year. Or the year after.

NOW.
