Riley's eyes show and recruits Flip Flop
I think we all have a grasp on what the delp chart looks like now days. I wanted to just focus on the '18 outlook. We'll look at it now, and (hopefully) after we land Bookie, White, and co. we'll see how it changes things. I only count freshmen who are committed. Senior, Junior, Sophomore, Freshman
QB: Murray / Kendall / Mordecai
Reasoning: I'm not writing off Kendall just yet. But Kyler has to be the betting favorite.
RB: Adams / Anderson / Sermon
Reasoning: We'll have SEVEN scholarship RBs, safe to say this position is very fluid.
FB: Meier / Hall / Deberry
Reasoning: Meier is a solid blocker, but gotta think this position gets less playing time next year. More 4 wide, more 21 personnel.
YWR: Calcaterra / Basquine / Morris
Reasoning: Andrews goes pro, and this position becomes the chain movers.
HWR: Crawford / Jones / Robinson
Reasoning: If Crawford is an early enrollee, I'm gonna buy his stock here.
XWR: Lamb / Miller / Johnson
Reasoning: Who knows if Miller will even be here?
ZWR: Brown / Rambo / Taylor
Reasoning: Don't know if Rambo is here or behind Lamb, but those 3 will be the main 3 for sure on the outside.
RT: Ealy / Samia / Mittermeier
Reasoning: I think they'll keep the 3 man rotation at OG, and allow Ealy to start his reign at OT.
RG: Samia / Dalton / Moore
Reasoning: Dalton returns, not a buyer in Moore just yet.
C: Humphrey / Alvarez / Dalton
Reasoning: Carey's son, along w/ Ealy, start as RS Freshmen.
LG: Powers / Ford / Hayes
Reasoning: You could flip flop the first 2, I also think they'll try to mix in Hayes.
LT: Evans / Swenson / Walker
Reasoning: I could see Walker being the backup as a true fresh.
I think we truly move to a 4 man front next year.
WDE: Gumbs / Jackson / Redmond
Reasoning: I think Gumbs becomes the next great pass rusher for us.
NG: Lampkin / Overton / Faamatau
Reasoning: This is how it is right now, I see no reason to change it.
DT: Bledsoe / Gallimore / Lott
Reasoning: Again, no reason to change it.
SDE: Mann / Thomas / Perkins
Reasoning: This group surprised this year, it may do the same next year.
WLB: Kelly / Bolton / Asamoah
Reasoning: I think OU will run a mainly 4-2-5 next year. I think Kelly is permanently moved to WLB.
MLB: Murray / JMT / Draper
Reasoning: Starting to build depth here...hopefully.
SLB: Jackson / Daley / Jones
Reasoning: This one is the biggest guess. In a 4-3, probably not Jackson's best spot. But we'll see. If it's still the bastardized 3-4 we run, Redmond or someone else could play here.
CB: Parker / Norwood / Edwards
Reasoning: Parker returns, and I think Edwards is an EE?
CB: Motley / Brown / Broiles
Reasoning: Brown could be the starter opposite Motley, the comp will be intriguing.
SS: Haughton / Sylvie / Fields
Reasoning: Not loving this spot. *crosses fingers for Proctor. But Haughton will be fine.
FS: Barnes / McKinney / Yell
Reasoning: Obviously I don't expect McKinney to truly be here next fall, but as things stand, it's hard to not put him there.
NB: Sylvie / Broiles / Fields
Reasoning: Sorta meh here as well. Pretty clear someone like Bookie or Proctor could make an immediate impact here.
