Full updates coming on both of these guys, but in the meantime, add Dawson Merritt and Christian Evans to the Sooners' ChampU BBQ official visit list. Spoke to both players today, and they both locked in OV's before leaving campus over the weekend.
Merritt is unofficially down to four schools, and has OV's booked to all four: Alabama (April 19-21), Missouri (June 7-9), Nebraska (June 14-16) and Oklahoma (June 21-23). Feeling good about the Sooners' chances here, especially since they get the last official.
Meanwhile, were it not for a crowded picture as far as the Sooners' interior DL group is concerned, I'd probably plug a FutureCast to OU for Evans. He had a fantastic visit, and the Sooners are devoid of elite competition for his services. This is a battle they can (and will) win, provided they want to. I just can't bank on Evans being a surefire take, at least not right now, given that the Sooners also lead for Floyd Boucard and Kole Briehler. There is much to be decided as to who will wind up in the interior DL class alongside Ka'Mori Moore and Trent Wilson... and before anyone asks the question, no, there is no reason to believe that Moore's commitment status is in jeopardy. He'll be back for the spring game and has remained completely locked in with Oklahoma.
