1. 3rd and long and we run a jet swing to Austin Stogner’s side. The play goes for a loss and takes us out of field goal position. Of all the concepts to be in love with, our OC picks jet f****** sweep. Ugh.
2. Not trying to pick on anyone, but this is not Austin Stogner’s game.
3. If we are going to keep running all of this split zone and zone insert, Lebby better go get an actual blocking H back or TE in the portal next year. Almost feel bad for Stogner, he’s being asked to carry the load blocking because the staff has no one else to run these concepts. That’s misuse of personnel.
4. Can we stop rotating RBs and let someone get in some type of game rhythm for goodness sake?
5. We take deep ball shots exclusively on 2nd and long, 3rd and long. No concept of managing the sticks and trying to string together drives. Just bad situational football and clock management.
6. Tackling has regressed every game since TX. Some of it is injuries, sure, but it’s across the whole defense.
7. After having only 10 men on the field twice in special teams last game, we once again have 10 on the field for punt. Ridiculous, no accountability.
8. For the second week in a row, I firmly believe OU is the more talented team on the field, but is out-coached, out-disciplined, and out-prepared.
Might be a little harsh, but good god we are wasting opportunity after opportunity. Just a frustrating brand of football to watch.
