I know that there are a few admin and posters on here that truly understand what the NIL collectives are intended to do, how they work etc. I haven’t researched the matter enough to have anything more than a superficial understanding.

Can someone that actually knows clarify whether the specific collective that is looking to raise $3MM in 30 days is committed to the general advancement of OU athletics OR is dedicated exclusively to football? Additionally, would that $3MM earmarked for recruiting or can it be deployed in any manner the management of the collective sees fit?

I can see the merit in contributing $ to a crowdsourcing effort to help OU be more competitive in terms of the NIL aspects of certain 2023 recruitments. However, if this is really just a means of trying to fund SOUL Mission and/or some other peripheral program, then it’s much less appealing. SOUL Mission may eventually be an important distinguishing aspect of OU’s program, but right now the need for an immediate influx of talent is significantly more urgent. For better or worse, money talks and financial terms will be central to whether OU wins or loses a few key recruiting battles.
