Watching him being interviewed, I was impressed with what a Motivational Man he is...I see him pursuing that as a successful Second Career, after his coaching days are over...

Sorry Senior, but I disagree with you on this one. My take on the guy is that he's a narcissistic fraud. On the other hand, those qualities probably would serve him well on the charlatan tour. Maybe he, Joel Osteen, and Tony Robbins can put their talents together and call themselves "The Traveling Shillburys"

Whatever works, right? I'd say his personality is focused towards the right constituency, but then someone will say I'm out of touch.

I hate orange, but I really like Dabo Swinney. Seems like a real, down-to-earth guy who likes to have some fun, is passionate about his team, coaches and players, and is always good for a great sound bite in his post-game on-field interviews. Glad they took down Bama and hopefully OU will get a chance for some revenge in 2019.

Dabo was stopped for speeding in 2012 I believe, doing 63 in a 35 because he was late for a radio show at a local grocery store. Dabo is seen calling someone on his cell and then his brother comes out. His brother can be heard saying who he is, Dabo Swinney, the cop replies I don't care who he is.. His brother also told the cop that he himself was a former cop of 30 yrs. Dabo's brother can also be heard telling the cop he is a disgrace to the badge. Looks to me like they were trying to throw the name around to get out of a ticket. Also the cop was fired later for posting about it while at work on some 247 sports board. Which he should not have done.

Also I will add that he was already being lenient with Dabo as you are not supposed to exit your vehicle like that when stopped, the cop also asked them to wait inside the truck but they did not. If that had been anyone else they would have been cuffed and put in the back of the police car for not complying.
Lead by example?
Nobody is perfect but if you preach it at least walk the walk. Famous people think because they are famous they have a different set of laws than the rest of us.
Reminds me about Alice Walton a few yrs ago, worth 47 billion and daughter to Sam Walton founder of Wal-Mart. She was stopped in NW Arkansas for driving under the influence, drunk and over the legal limit, she told the officer when he arrested her "don't you know who I am?" And also told him she would have his badge. As far as I know she never got him fired.

Funny but I never heard of Tim Tebow dropping F bombs during a game or trying to get out of a ticket because of who he is. I have never had a problem with Tebow or his message as he seems to walk the walk.
I have no problem with anyones faith but if you are a Christian act like one, don't be a hypocrite, thats why certain people down Christianity because most don't practice what they preach.

I just find it odd that its used in sports, like when a player points to heaven after a viscious hit that he just put on a player especially if a player was injured as a result. Its as if he believes God enabled him to do that.
Be thankful that God gave you a special ability to do certain things, play football, be healthy etc but to say God had a part in one team winning and the other losing, I don't think so.
Its like praising God because you won the lottery or hit it big at the Casinos, why did he do that for just you? What makes you so special that you were the ome chosen and not someone else? Oh well whatever.

Well I agree too many Christians fail to live it. I guess thats the whole point of Christianity though right? That nobody is perfect. I find there are hypocrites in all walks of life.....church, your job, your family, and probably every one of us is hypocritical to a certain extent. I'm just to the point now where if someone in his position is trying to do the right things and be an example then I'm going to support him or her. Not saying they are perfect or that they don't screw up, but I feel they are genuine then I see nothing wrong in supporting what I believe is good.

He's a different take than Switzer, Stoops, Saban and those that won before him. It's why they won. They're different and each had their own style. Dabo bleieves in his God. It made it possible for him to teach and ultimately win. I'm happy for him.

Sadly being a Christian is different now than it used to be, a lot of people I know or have known live badly M-Sat then on Sunday they drop a few bucks in the plate and all is forgiven or at least it makes them feel better I guess.
People can do what they want, Dabo included, I have no problem with the guy or what he does if he is sincere about it and I have no reason to believe he is not. Its those holier than thou people that really get under my skin.
Do as I say not as I do.

Those people should have nothing to do with you or anyone else though. There are bad people in every aspect of life. You wouldn't quit a good job just because a coworker was hypocritical.

In theory, you are right, fortworth.
But throughout my life, I have seen people who claim to be God-fearing, altruistic, righteous and loving, yet are very bigoted, judgemental, pious, superstitious and without a "turn the other cheek" philosophy (vengeful). So many I regard (or regarded) as people I don't want in my life.
As a kid, I recall wondering how people could claim to be so "Christian" on Sundays, yet wallow in hatred towards blacks, Jews, Hispanics and others the other six days of the week. I never figured out the "black only" and "white only" restrooms, water fountains, restaurant sections, bus sections, etc. rational.....even after an adult told me it was to prevent venereal diseases. Huh ???
I lived my childhood in Texas and Oklahoma mostly, yet my parents never planted an intolerance of others within me. This was during the 1950's, when nothing was held back in terms of bigotry.
I'm not an atheist or an agnostic. I have my own inner beliefs. I don't believe there's a god who predetermines fate. And I don't entangle these beliefs with my political views as the current political landscape has no room for civility or decency anymore....and gets worse daily.
As for folks like Dabo Sweeney and Tim Tebow, I'm not at all threatened or offended by their words. People like them are what is right with the word and I think, at least on the surface, they are honorable guys.

From what I can read here, Clemson gets somewhere between 25-35% of its money from the government (State or Federal) depending on where the grants are coming from (undefined).

Public institutions should keep their staff from evangelizing. There's no ifs ands or buts about it.

You want to keep Dabo from expressing his religious views in public? I hope that isn't what you are saying

I believe the great majority of people on the planet are God fearing. Most are not Christian though. Most of them go to church faithfully and appear to say and do all the right things yet choose not to partake in God's plan of salvation. It's all free will. There are those folks that have attended my church for decades who have never heeded His call and remain lost souls to this day. It's not devoutly attending church or doing a whole slew of good works that guarantees one's salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9). These folks refuse to get on His bus.

My thoughts are if Dabo is using it to get recruits, Momma's and Poppa's approval for their kids to play for him then thats an issue but if he is sincere about it then more power to him. Better than them being offered money or a car but most kids would take the money and or car.
Reminds me of the Warden in Shawshank. "Put your faith is Jesus, your ass belongs to me."
And then you have people like Jimmy Swaggart and Jim Baker begging for your money on tv, my grandmother rest her soul used to send them money all the time.

Maybe "fearing" a god in every religion is what's wrong with the world.
If one believes in a loving god, why the fear factor ?
God is everything and loving. He is omnipresent (everywhere), omniscient (all knowing), omnipotent (having unlimited power), and omnibenevolent (perfect). He is the creator of everything, the great sustainer, the Truth, and Just. His judgment is perfect and final. All will eventually come under His judgment (thus the fear of the wrathful God). Those whom believe in Him through faith, follow Him on their path to sanctification, and accept His free gift of salvation through grace will reside with Him eternally. Those who don't will eternally be separated from Him. It's really simple.

There is a lengthy list of those who pervert the Truth. That list will continue to grow with time. Anyone who turns to man for the Truth will often be mislead. The Truth (God's holy word) is revealed through one's relationship with the Father and His Word. Greed is the great destroyer and separator.

If it doesn’t hurt anyone, who cares? And the Guberment should take a hike...

I have never been a fan of Dabo by any means and have my reservations about him. If he truely believes the way he expresses himself to the public then that is truely great. If its an act though to get kids to go to Clemson then eventually all of that will come out at some point as we know these days the media will be all over a guy like Dabo if he ever messes up.

I hope his act is real though. I think sometimes success for others when we wish our team was holding that trophy can sway our opinions because its not happening to our team.
