Plaino look in when you get a chance; my little UNI Panthers

Number 5 Iowa State goes down! Not too shabby a season so far, beating then #1 UNC and down go the Clones. All UNI has to do is get about 18 total wins & fairly well in their conference and with their resume will be dancing in March !

Well, I went solo, no pun intended, to see Star Wars tonight. It's funny. I had a conversation with my son two weeks ago, and predicted correctly the biggest surprise in the movie. I didn't love it. Some young pup told me as we were leaving, or rather asked me, if I thought it was the best of the Star Wars movies. I pretty strongly disagreed with that.

It lacked the Lucas touch, IMO.

But anyhow, I didn't get to watch UNI. I'm not excited that a Big XII team lost. But since it would seem pretty certain that OU will be in the dance, it would seem that the future seeding is on them, not on the records of others in the conference, it hurts less.

But congrats. All if us love it when one of our favorite teams wins a big game.

OU might have an opportunity to play Northern Iowa in the Diamond Head Classic. At first I thought it was a slam dunk for OU until I realized that this is the team that beat NC and ISU. Changed my slam dunk prediction.

UNI won't be an easy out in the tourney. Washspun is legit...kid would be starring at Tennessee if he was still there.

OU is probably going to get them in round 2 of the diamond head classic. SHould be a solid game.

Yes it will be; the Panthers are pretty good and Ben Jacobsen is going to be a big name head coach soon, especially if they go dancing again this year.

Give my regards to the nasty one if you see him around...

OU up to number 2 and 3 in basketball polls. Never thought I would see OU in this position again. Hope this is just the beginning. It's been a very long time.

Did. UNI win last night. If so, then they play the Sooners next. I guess tonight.

Post edit.

UNI got hosed. They got beat really bad by Hawaii in a game that did not start until nearly 1 a.m. in Iowa. So dealing with jet lag and playing the hosts with a home time advantage was tough. I believe it said they lost by 16. The home team takes that advantage to play the Sooners tonight.

Stayed up to watch OU, but couldn't handle what ended up being a 115am tip for UNI for us East coasters. Was really looking forward to that potential matchup. Really liked what the OU bench was cooking in the second half. Walker, Buford, Manyang on both ends...James and Odomes locking down on the defensive end. Nobody played heavy minutes, should be the fresher team tonight.

Tough draw for UNI...playing the home team, with an after midnight tip. Not sure they had the luxury of being out there 3-4 days in advance like OU was either.

IA, I'll tell him you said hi ;-)
