Not surprisingly, a lot of really strong performances from the offense on Saturday and equally unsurprising was that Kyler Murray led the way.
It's also clear through a few weeks that PFF is pretty fond of Brayden Willis.
I'm not yet sure if it's concerning or not but Creed Humphrey as the top graded offensive lineman, for the second straight week, seems a bit troubling. There is just something not syncing yet about the unit. Too much talent for things not to get back in order.
Anyone thinking Kennedy Brooks needs to live in a world of 40 snaps?
Defensively, no shock that they loved Tre Brown's work but the thing I'm most impressed by is how solid his scores are across the board, it's not 'he was great here, awful here'. Just a sound performance from top to bottom.
I'm a little staggered at three cornerbacks making their top rankings list but I do think the #s are a bit misleading on a 'per play' basis even if I hate the commentary that 'we faced a lot of plays'...when the whole idea is to get OFF the field.
That's over simplifying but you understand the point.
I've always been a big fan of PFF but I can't lie there are some grades that just baffle me at times, notably Caleb Kelly this week. I admit that I'm watching on the whole and not offering play by play grades but just not sure how that score adds.
Also interesting?
DaShaun White's score (though in limited duty) is Oklahoma's second highest defensive score of the year following Mark Jackson against UCLA in week two (80.9). Like I said, it's a limited sampling but there are LOTS of others who have had even fewer snaps and didn't put up that kind of score. It seems to back up a lot of the buzz on him.
