I wished it was true. But rumors swirl at all times before the big games. The source was the same guy who said Calcaterra was forced to retire...this several weeks before the announcement. I found the Perkins rumor interesting.

Probably if it's true, it means shortening the future suspension, not affecting the LSU game.
