The new OT rules, intended to shorten OT periods, suck.
Bob Stoops said it best yesterday. He said he always believed you should earn points.
He was talking more about putting the ball at the 25 to start OT, but blended in the 2 point rule after third OT. Starting the possession at the 25, basically starts teams with 3 points unearned. Then play dictates whether they increase the 3 points, lose the three points or bank the 3 points.
I've always thought the ball should be placed at mid field. Bob said place it at the 40. Each OT period needed, you move the ball up 5 yards, so you don't end up with 15 OT of no scoring from the B1G or traditional SEC tams.
