The Sooners beat host Hawaii 8-0 in five innings and Parker didn't surrender even on base runner. Lauren Chamberlain's leaping catch of a liner in the top of the fifth saved the perfecto. Leading 6-0, the Sooners scored two in the bottom of the fifth to end the game by run rule. All of the RBI's in the game were from first year OU players, including two home runs by Nicole Pendley, her first two as a college player.

For the weekend tournament, the Sooners beat Hawaii twice, DePaul twice and St Mary's once. Only DePaul scored, in OU's 9-2 season opening win, and 11-3 win in game four. The other wins were 7-0 over Hawaii, and 17-0 over St. Mary's.

Next weekend, OU plays in the LIttlewood Classic at Arizona State. The other teams in the five game tournament will be Boston, Washington and Illinois State.

DePaul is ranked in the top 25. Next week, ASU is 16th. Washington is 11th.

Here's a link to the schedule on the official site. You can read a story about every game by clicking the score.

Since the first five games were in Hawaii, the only coverage on the Sooner site, was either the after game stories, or a link to the Hawaii website, which required downloading some additional software just to listen to their games. I've stopped doing the latter. Too much malware in those invitations.

Sooners sweep first five games in Hawaii.

In this case, you didn't need to download anything. When you accessed the site, there was a screen that wanted you to download. It was actually a tool bar that they were enabling. All you had to do was to click the little x on the upper right of the little screen, and the download sign went away, and the game started immediately. I watched all five games, missing a part of one due to problems on their end.
