If you live or work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you might feel like there is a sea of people everywhere you turn.

While that might be an exaggeration, a computer analysis by On Numbers shows that the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington area is the fourth most-populated metropolitan area in the nation.

DFW had an estimated population of 6,603,870 on Jan. 15, according to the analysis. That places DFW ahead of Houston, which had an estimated population of 6,191,498 on that date.
